Hello there! My name is Rick, and I am a very experienced tutor. I started tutoring my first year in college in algebra and biology. My tutee was getting an D- in algebra, but i brought him up to a B+ by the end of the semester. I have a lot of experience teaching ESL because I lived in Japan for four years teaching it to children and adults. I have taught TOEIC and TOEFL. I also taught business English, conversational, and others. Currently I am studying to get my masters degree in Education at Pepperdine University. It is an excellent program, so if you choose me as your tutor, you are getting not only an experienced teacher, but a well resourced and theoretical knowledged one as well.
Experience
-4 years ESL in Japan, from 1-1 tutoring to large classes of 40. -before Japan had 3 years of tutoring experience. Was hired to manage an after school learning center but declined because I was moving to Japan. -Because I am experienced with teaching TOEFL and TOEIC, SAT English is incredibly easy. That is not a problem for me to teach. -I can teach mathematics up to trigonometry proficiently, and I can guarantee to raise your grades. Unfortunately, I don't remember much past that =( -I have proven to be a popular and effective teacher. Each school I have taught at, I am used as the teacher that students have trial lessons with. I have a 95% positive turnover ratio. -I am currently studying for my Masters. I have much more theoretical background than a regular credentialed teacher. I have already begun teaching in the elementary school teacher.

Hobbies
In essence, I am really good with all ages. I get along great with younger children, and fit in well with young adults and teenagers. With my humorous personality, I am engaging and motivating. But I am also patient, uplifting, and challenging. I will always push my students to go beyond the level they think they are. I use an array of different ways to teach, including singing, games, poetry, stories, and so forth. I have many hobbies that can relate to my students as well. Basketball, cooking, reading, singing, traveling, video games, comics, bowling, you name it. I GUARANTEE you with the amount of money you pay, it WILL be worth it!
