Experience

As a life-long learner and passionate student, I can only help to instill in to the students that I tutor the same love for learning and desire to succeed academically. I am a graduating senior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and a rising Freshmen at UC Berkeley as a Regents Scholar where I plan to study Computer Science and Entrepreneurship. I specialize in tutoring Math, English, Literature, Writing, and Debate (and public speaking). In high school, I have been enrolled in honors courses for the previous four years in the aforementioned subject areas and have completed courses such as AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Language and Composition, AP English Literature/ IB English HL 1 and 2. I have also had numerous successes in Debate and Public Speaking events. Debate has far been my most enjoyable extracurricular activity that I am particularly passionate about. Being the president of the National Honors Society chapter at my high school, I have had the responsibility to running the after-school tutoring program. In addition to organizing this program, I have helped to tutor students on a weekly basis in varying subjects. Additionally, I have been the debate team captain all four years of high school. As captain, I help coach students in case writing, speaking drills, argumentation, debate strategies, and run practice rounds for students. Through my positions as debate team captain and NHS President, I have gained significant experience tutoring peers and helping them to advance their academic goals. I hold myself to a high standard and believe that both the parents and students should be satisfied with the tutoring that they receive. I always value feedback and use it to improve in my teaching methods. I look forward to working with you and helping to achieve your academic goals!
